Who we are
Darkian is a software consultancy based in Cúcuta, Colombia, working with companies in the United States. We have spent more than five years building and operating production systems: AI services, full platforms, automation that runs 24/7 and, when the problem demanded it, compilers and virtual machines of our own.
We are deliberately small. Every engagement gets senior people and a named engineering lead, because the alternative — a junior bench behind a polished pitch — is the reason most outsourcing goes wrong. If we are not the right team for your problem, we will tell you on the first call.
What we do
Take on the engineering a team cannot staff internally — AI systems, platform builds, automation — and deliver it to production with documentation the client owns.

You talk to the people writing the code. No account manager translating your requirements into a ticket and back.
Written decisions
Architecture choices, trade-offs and what we rejected are written down. You inherit the reasoning, not just the repository.

Much of what we build is open source. Our work is auditable before you hire us and after we hand over.

Where are you based, and does it matter?
Cúcuta, Colombia. It matters in one way that helps you: at UTC-5 we share a full working day with US Eastern and Central teams. Standups, pairing and incident calls happen at normal hours for both sides.
How do you price engagements?
Fixed fee for discovery sprints, monthly for dedicated squads, per engineer for embedded work. Everything is quoted in writing before anything starts. Tell us the budget you have and we will say plainly whether it is realistic.
Who owns the code?
You do — repository, infrastructure and documentation. We hand over everything, and we can keep maintaining it or step away cleanly, whichever you prefer.
How small an engagement will you take?
A two-week discovery sprint is the smallest thing we sell, and it is deliberately low risk: you keep the plan whether or not you continue with us.
Do you work with early-stage companies?
Yes. A large share of our work is first production versions: the platform, the auth, the data model and the deployment that a founding team does not yet have the headcount to build.
